Two Cell Towers were removed by the officials of the Town Planning wing of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on a complaint by Sardar Patel House Owners Society of Fatehnagar. They
alleged that a woman died of Cancer due to EMR emitted by Cell phone towers.
Also, several cell phone towers do not have structural stability, with weak structures , incidents of either building developing cracks or collapsing due to weight of the towers.
Due to this the GHMC had served notices on all operators recently on the Andhra Pradesh High Court's directives to regulate roof top cell phone towers. GHMC officials said roof top cellphone towers were of concern as they carry weight & structural stability was required for them.
After a building developed cracks in Kapru & High Court direction, the GHMC stopped giving permissions
to erect cellphone towers in the city. " New permissions for cell phone towers were stopped in A.P. Towers which were erected in last 10 years are being checked ", GHMC Chief City Planner told TOI.
The Action against Mobile Tower companies in Hyderabad City by GHMC deserves congratulations for their honest action , but similar problem related mobile tower having in other states of their illegal act in densed population roof tops the concerned Govt. bodies never take action with valid proof & evidence.
This is a Country - where Corruption is the main bottom line of our administration.
