New Radiation Rules of Cell Towers

The New Norms for Towers  which came into effect on September 1,2012 have made the radiation limit  more stringent it from 9.2w/sqm to 0.92 w/sqm, a 10 fold  decrease . It is lower than the US ( 12w/sqm ) and higher than  China  ( 0.4 w/sqm) and Russia ( 0.2 w/sqm ).
There are more or less 4.5 lakhs telecom towers  in India   of which 5%  (around 22000 towers) don't meet  new guide lines in India. Most of them are located in core areas of  Delhi, Mumbai , Kolkata & Chennai  and suburbs of Banglore , Hyderabad etc apart from  other tier - 1 cities.
To achieve the new norms, telecom companies will manually decrease  the power supplied  to the towers which  will bring down radiation levels. While this solves  the compliance problem, it means the coverage area goes down and more towers will be needed to cover the same area.
Here I like to put a  comment that by reducing the power level by 10 fold from 9.2 w/sqm. to 0.92 w/sqm, the cellular operators association of India (COAI ) have started to play their ill motive to harm environment  in the name of coverage area of each  tower will fall down & more towers mean your phone will search and switch between towers much more than before , leading to more call drops.
These cellular operators  are looking their business interest not for public, still they will not bring high capacity of modern technology of highly mounted one which will be costly for all these cell operators, the obsolete technology of foreign countries being used in India . Even in future if Govt. again brings down the power  at per with China , then what these cell operators will do ? These cell Operator Companies should leave IDEA of installing Cell towers on roof tops of Residential Buildings. The present Cell operators like to install more towers which is very objectionable idea that will automatically emit more radiation will soon create health hazards . The Govt. should  direct these Cell operators to bring modern Technology from western Countries & they should visit how other countries are doing this business !!
